"A child is having a nightmare.  Isn’t it our instinct to take it gently in our arms, hold it tenderly and by lovingly talking to it encourage it to wake up ? I invite my supervisees to do exactly the same with their clients"

Twitter Linked InSupervision for practicing Coaches

4sight has qualified Supervisors that provide both 1:1 and Group Supervision for practicing coaches. It is good practice for all coaches to receive some form of supervision that focuses not only on the Coach, but also on the relationship between the coach and client AND the quality of the intervention provided to the client.

The three main functions of Supervision are to provide the Coach with; qualitative enquiry of the relationship, developmental intervention and resourcing support.

1:1 Supervision. We provide a series of 1 hour sessions (face to face or on a voice link). Frequency will depend upon the number of coaching clients the ‘supervisee’ has; the Association for Coaching recommends that the ratio should be 1 hour of supervision for every 15 coaching sessions, with a minimum of one hour per month.

Group Supervision. We provide Supervisors for groups which will number a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7 practicing coaches, face to face at a suitable venue. Each session will last approx 2 hrs with each session occurring every 4 – 6 weeks. Commitment to the Group is essential in order to create the proper dynamic. The Group collectively draws up the rules by which the sessions will be conducted.
